I was just reading a delightful transript of @HildyGottlieb’s telling he 85 year old mother about Twitter.
Explaining Twitter to Grandma Rose
How many times a day does this happen to you?
I’m guessing that as an author of Twitter Revolution, I get this a bit more than most.. but my guess is that similar conversations are happening about a million times each day. That’s less than once per user per week.
Once someone gets to the “How come I haven’t heard of this before?” it’s a quick jump to Stage 2 of Twitter Acceptance. (click to read “The Three Stages of Twitter Acceptance”)
Will they all follow the early adopters and start tweeting everyday. Maybe some.. but even with average use dropping with the people adopting Twitter… we are going to be mainstream pretty soon.
on the TwitCast, I’ve heard predictions as high as 50 million this year. I’m more conservative.. guessing closer to 30 million. Either way, the tweeps on up till now are early adopters.
We’re just getting started. Comment below on your thoughts about how the mass acceptance of Twitter will change how we communicate, market our businesses, and live our lives.
How many people did you tell Twitter about his week?

It is very interesting how it is growing so quickly. You just never know what the mainstream will sweep up and follow. I opened my account in August and just sat on it until November. Since then I have been trying to be consistent and tweet often. My list has grown rapidly. I cannot wait to see how it looks in a year or so.
I told one person about Twitter today. My doctor! She said she didn’t quite get it. I told her to try it, she would! I told her parents did when I explained it to them!
