I’ve been using PeopleBrowser for a while and have been sharing it with a few friends.
So far, it’s not been as fast and responsive as some other options.. but I think it holds a lot of promise… especially in integrating Twitter with other social media
Meanwhile, some tweeps, like @philreinhardt think it IS the best interface for Twitter. Phil posted this review on his blog comparing, compaing Twitter on the web, TweetDeck and PeopleBrowsr
I’ll be posting more on the advanced features of PeopleBrowsr, and other mulit-platform clients
What’ YOUR opinion? What freatures to you need most to be able to keep in contact with all your connections across all the social media platforms.
Post a comment below. Be sure to inclued your Twitter @ handle so we can follow you.

Have you checked out DestroyTwitter? You can change the amount of API calls for each category, really nice. Check out DeskTube too, I included a simple twitter client along side a YouTube browser. @desktube
tweetdeck would so rock if the text size were customizable but squinting as I puzzle out tiny type frustrates me every time I open it. Currently I’m a twhirl girl & like that I can just have it open in a side-panel look; keeping somewhat updated with glances from time to time, at the same time staying focused on my browser and what I have to do rather than twitter chit-chat that may not be the best use of my time.
That said, taking a look at PeopleBrowser makes sense. Thanks for the info as always!

Hi Phil
I love the interface options for Tweetdeck as well as PeopleBrowsr but would love to have your thoughts on Orsiso, a really cool Adobe AIR app that has just been released. It helps merge and synchronise your friends details across multiple social networks. Check it out at http://www.orsiso.com!
The real beauty of this app is that it helps you to filter off information you receive from all the different sources and it has a great visual presentation of your friends.
Have a try of this and see how it compares to your existing Twitter platforms! The invite code you can use to register is PB32B8RW

I hate that Twitter doesn’t have a auto-refresh function. Seems like this would be crucial. I agree with you, though, about the drawbacks to TweetDeck, so I’ve just been using the main site. But this seems like a cool tool … thanks for the tutorial!
I agree with Susan. I love Twhirl for her exact reasons. However, I am following too many people to keep up with and am getting frustrated and wishing I could organize it better. So I’ve considered giving Tweetdeck a try.
@Kelly Watson & Musings – you can use the “Twitter Live Updater” greasemonkey script in Firefox to get auto-refresh going
Just trying it out, its slower than tweetdeck but v.customisable. Myabe freeing up some screen space from the top would help
I haven’t used PeopleBrowsr yet but I really like TweetDeck. I find that I like having my Twitter app outside and separate from the browser. That said, I’ll give PeopleBrowsr a shot.
I just wish Twitter or Tweetdeck has the same functionality as Ping.fm to post to all my networks at once, and I wish that Ping.fm could publish updates so you didn’t have to keep changing applications all the time.
So far… I’m diggin it. Opened it into its own Chrome browser window and it’s crankin along! I’ve been a big Tweetdeck fan, but I’ll give this a whirl and post pack with ideas, accolades etc!
Thanks for the turn on…
John
I’m going to try People Browser to see if I like it at all, but I can see that this doesn’t go into all of tweetdecks really nice features such as translation and being able to click on a name, creating groups, etc. Maybe People Browser does this. The one feature I’m missing so far is to have my groups sync across machines, so I’d be very interested in seeing if People browser has this functionality.
@Aithene
PeopleBroswr will sync across machines because it is not ON your machine.
I agree, there are many cool features in TweetDeck.. I hope they adopt some of what PeopleBrowsr is doing… like more profiles on other networks, and moving from one machine to another seamlessly
I’m rather fond of Digsby. (http://www.digsby.com/)
I track several personal and business email, twitter, facebook, myspace, gtalk, yahoo messenger, msn messenger… the works, all in one framework.
um, duh @1on1security
