I hear stories daily of tweeps who are making money on Twitter.  For every success story I hear, there are just as many stories of tweeps who are frustrated that they can’t turn their tweets into profits.

Success on Twitter requires dedication and constant conversation.  If you tweet once daily, chances are you’re not going to be heard over the noise of the Twittersphere.  If you’re constantly pushing products and only tweeting when you have something to sell, you’re going to be unfollowed quickly.

But if you’re being authentic in your tweets and engaging your followers – developing a relationship – you’re going to find your way to those elusive profits.

If you’ve been following my tweets, you know that next week, we’re moving 2500 miles across the Pacific Ocean. Leaving behind the LOST Shores of North Oahu and heading for SoCal.  Our business has gone through some incredible changes since we first dipped our toes in the warm Hawaiian waters 7 years ago.

We wrote the first book on new media marketing: Secrets of Online Persuasion.

I’ve co-authored the first book on Twitter: Twitter Revolution.

We’ve coached thousands of business owners, celebrities and online entrepreneurs with our Private Coaching Services.

Our company has created the push button BLOG i360 System which helps our members thrive in the new media marketplace & gets their online presence all over the net.

We’ve designed and delivered a course that’s bringing the sexy back to marketing: Tribal Seduction.

But now it’s time to say Aloha to our beach home on the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii and jump back to the mainland and join civilization again!

Now it’s time to Celebrate! We’ve sold our place, packed up our offices, arranged to ship the essentials to southern California and are busy purging 7 years of happy history of island living. We’re excited about the move and enjoying the last 7 Hawaiian sun rises until the Big Day when we fly with dogs in cargo to San Diego for the next chapter in our lives!

Our last night in our home will be next Sunday.  And while we’re a little sad to be saying goodbye to all the amazing friends we’ve made on this island, we’re also psyched about the change and have come up with a way for you to celebrate with our raving fans who’ve supported us along the way.

Business Day posted an article last week on a rising trend in social media: squatters.  Seems that the latest Twitter trend is for squatters to snatch up trademark Twitter IDs.  Nicole Kidman, Coca Cola, and Nike have all had their names snatched up by others.  (You can read the full Squatters Creating Twittering Confusion article.)

Celebrities and major corporations aren’t the only victims.  Some Internet Marketers who were late adopting Twitter had their names scooped up. @biz and @ev spoke about the trend on The View last week and outlined some of the verification strategies they will be putting in place to help prevent Twitter ID theft.

It wasn’t like somebody told me about it and I said, ‘I don’t know how to spell that.’ I said, ‘Yeah, I’ve got that on my list, so I’m okay.’ But there came a point when we realized it was happening faster and was a much deeper phenomenon than had been recognized in our strategy.”

I don’t remember what life was like before Twitter but I’m starting to think about what life could be like after Twitter is gone. (Gasp! Did I just say that?! Twitter = Gone? Really?)

Now that Twitter has entered the mainstream, does it change the Twittersphere?  Is it possible to engage when you have a million PLUS followers?

You betcha!  As long as you focus on reaching people and engaging them with RELEVANT information, ENGAGING content or ENTERTAINING broadcasts.
