With the recent outages of Twitter and especially the loss of people from my community last week when Twitter had a problem, I think it's really important to have details of the people that we really do want in our closest circle, or Tribe as @coachdeb describes them as, in alternative formats so that I can protect myself against loss of my data base.

One thing I have done recently is create a duplicate list of the people I REALLY want to follow in my FriendFeed account.

You can read about it here is you would like more infomation - it's an article where I talk about three key FriendFeed features:

I just learned about the new Twellow.com, 'WebProNews's Twitter people search and directory platform, a yellow pages for Twitter'. I think this will be a great resource for all Twitter users to find people on Twitter they have something in common with based on niche. It looks like it could become the Twitter search engine. It also lists users by Twitter id and by most followers. Hopefully they will add more search options for finding people too!

I just learned how to use twitter bar... (FireFox or Flock browser add-on).

I knew that I could just hit the little green + sign and it would twit what I was reading now... but.......

I did not know I could add a comment in the browser bar and it would add that to my twit along with the url.

Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy.

Hey Guys,

Unfortunately I don't think the time difference will allow me to join you live- I left my days of all night surfing behind some time ago.

As far as favourite apps go, well - I'm still fairly reserved in my use of Twitter- however I couldn't live without twitteriffic for Mac OS. It sits quietly in the corner leaving me to work in peace and displays a friendly unobtrusive Growl notification when someone tweets: I don't have to manually go and read the timeline (procrastination) because I know I'll get the info from my followees and @ replies.

My second favourite application doesn't exist just yet, but when it does it's gonna rawk! Daily Twitter should allow me to set up a custom 'news page' where I can subscribe to a number of topics and lay them out in a pleasing and eyecatching manner. (At least, I hope that's the intention)

Anything that reduces the time I spend looking for information when I should be working is soo important because I'm the sort of person who gets side-tracked *very* easily.

Well, have fun with the twebinar and best regards,
Stuart.
